About the IEC
If you have the belief that the horse industry is about horses and the classical principles laid down by master horsemen generations before. If you believe that by nurturing talented students it will make the horse industry better. If you want to create a generation of horsemen who can pass on this knowledge to riders and horses. Then the College (I E C) is looking for your support.
The College is a voice for horsemanship in the over commercialization of horsemanship. We want to give talented young people the learning experiences that will enable them to train horses and riders to make the industry stronger. In order to have this knowledge they need practical learning skills. They need to go to 3 and 4 star International jumping competitions and put in practice the skills they are taught. Imagine a generation of riders who get to feel correctly trained horses and compete them. Imagine riders, grooms and future trainers who follow a program based on horsemanship not tricks to win a ribbon. The College wants to have and develop these horses and use them to train this next generation of riders. We want more than one talented rider to go to the ring and learn from these great teachers. We want to promote practical learning. The skills that these riders, grooms and trainers will learn is all practical knowledge because our tests are the international competitions. Under these conditions they will truly learn their studies.
The top riders today don’t have the time to pass on their knowledge to young horses and riders. The College students will have years of study in sound basic principles and position. They will be able to show their students and young horses what they want, because they’ve been there and done it themselves. Practical education through the College to talented students will insure these results and allow them to educate the next generation of horse and rider.
The College will give talented riders, grooms and trainers a program based on classical principles (bridle, saddle, correct position and no gadgets) the tools to train and money to compete, as well as practical experience at high levels of International Show jumping to insure the next generation will get the knowledge of past generations passed on. These Students will become career horsemen. We will make the sport of show jumping stronger by giving this talented group of young people a solid base and bringing them into the show jumping industry. We will be a voice for horsemanship first and not sell out to politics and commercialism to short cut these principles.
These principles of horsemanship have stood the test of time and need to be preserved. If you agree with the above please send us a mail and become a friend of the College. The College needs many different kinds of support but mostly people who want to preserve horsemanship for future generations. The horse and mankind grew up together and this legacy should be allowed to all who search out its principles.
